Bodyguard Jobs – Do You Want a Bodyguard?

A bodyguard (or closed protection officer/ operative) is a kind of security officer, military member, or law enforcement officer who guards a person or an institution usually high-ranking officials or members, celebrities, and other financially privileged people Mostly, bodyguards are protecting the head, but occasionally, the tail. It is not surprising for a bodyguard to protect the head, since his job would be to protect the head from danger, like assassination, while the tail is going to take care of the body. A bodyguard’s official duties are as follows: protecting the VIP; protecting the VIP from the danger; escorting the VIP to his place of protection or location; and preventing the access of unauthorized personnel to the VIP. Other duties are as follows:

Bodyguards are professionally trained for various specialized job responsibilities. A bodyguard may perform general duties such as transporting and escorting the client; performing un-escorted transfers; escorting the client in cases of emergency; guarding the client during negotiations; escorting the client during negotiations; physically escorting and blocking the access of unauthorized individuals to the VIP; and apprehending, detaining, and rescuing the client when there is a need to employ the above activities. A bodyguard may also perform specific duties depending on the job description. For instance, a bodyguard might have to protect the client from harm, while the latter has to escape from harm himself. The same is true for the level of risk: low, medium, high, or extremely high.

In a way, bodyguards protect their employers by keeping the target of danger from harm. In fact, this is just one aspect of what a close protection officer (CPO) does. A CCTV officer specifically helps his employer by doing something similar to bodyguard work. He follows the client around, protecting and advising him at all times. However, unlike a bodyguard, a CCTV officer does not get in the middle of an interaction between a client and his employer, unless he has been given specific authorization to do so.

Close protection officers (CPO) and bodyguards have both the same and different responsibilities. The main difference between the two is that a bodyguard protects his employer from harm while a CCTV officer helps his employer by doing something similar to bodyguard work. For instance, a CCTV officer’s main job is not to physically arrest or apprehend a target; rather, he tries to prevent a potential threat from even arising. In other words, bodyguards protect their employers from the attack of an assailant but CCTV officers prevent the attack from even coming into existence.

In a society where security is a major concern, hiring a bodyguard is a wise decision. There are many types of bodyguard courses available in different training institutes across the country. Bodyguards are paid on a monthly basis or an hourly basis. If you are serious about protecting your loved ones, protecting yourself, protecting property, then a bodyguard may be just what you need. Bodyguards may not be able to stop crime on their own. On the other hand, they can act as a deterrent, a force multiplier, and a shield for the client.
